The Carnegie Cameron Taught Postgraduate Bursaries 2010
Eight awards are offered to Scottish students undertaking either a one year, full-time or two year, part-time taught postgraduate degree in any subject offered by the University of Edinburgh commencing in the 2010/2011 academic session.
The value of each award is yet to be confirmed, however, as an indication in 2009/10 £3,400 was deducted from the tuition fees of successful applicants.
Eligibility
The bursaries will be awarded to applicants who are accepted for admission on either a full-time or part-time basis for a taught postgraduate programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are Scottish either by birth or descent (at least one parent born in Scotland) or that they have been continuously resident in Scotland for a period of at least three years for the purpose of secondary or tertiary education in Scotland.
Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Application forms for postgraduate admission are available on the University’s web site.
Applicants who do not hold an offer of admission by the deadline will not be considered for the award.
Criteria
The bursary will be awarded on the basis of academic merit with due consideration also being given to financial circumstances.
Candidates will normally require a first-class honours degree.
