Postdoctoral Positions in Cancer Epidemiology and Molecular Epidemiology

The Department of Health Studies and Cancer Research Center at the University of Chicago jointly seeks candidates for two fully-funded postdoctoral fellow/scholar positions in the area of Cancer and Molecular Epidemiology. Applicants will have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or an MD with academic training in quantitative research (e.g., Master’s degree in epidemiology or biostatistics). (ABD applicants will be considered but must complete degree before position can be offered.)

Successful candidates are expected to work on several integrated molecular epidemiologic studies investigating genetic susceptibility, environmental exposures, and gene-environment relationships in the development and progression of lymphoma and other hematopoietic cancers. The fellow/scholar will have an active role in ongoing studies, including opportunities to initiate new projects, analyze existing data, and/or develop grant proposals.

Experience with nutritional epidemiology is particularly desirable for one of the positions. The University of Chicago offers outstanding training opportunities for multidisciplinary Cancer and Molecular/Genetic Epidemiology research. We provide state-of-the-art research resources encompassing a large number of faculties involved in epidemiological, molecular, and statistical aspects of genomic and gene-environment research. Also included is access to high throughput genomic facilities and related biostatistical/bioinformatics support, and clinical data/biospecimen repositories from multiethnic populations. The University of Chicago is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer.
