Postdoctoral position in vascular cell biology

NIH-funded postdoctoral position available for highly self-motivated Ph.D. to participate in research on mechanisms of vascular cell motility and vascular injury responses. Qualifying individuals with prior experience and publications in vascular physiology in mice are especially encouraged to apply. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. and experience with molecular biology and cloning, mammalian cell culture, viral transduction, and cell biology and protein biochemistry studies as documented by a relevant publication record. Experience with in vivo studies in mice is desired. Ability to contribute to publications, presentations and grants, and to maintain meticulous records are required.

Temple University School of Medicine faculty continues a proud heritage of significant contributions to medical research. Early research pioneers at Temple include Dr. William Babcock (inventor of numerous innovative surgical instruments and techniques), Dr. Chevalier Jackson (inventor of the laryngoscope), Dr. Ernst Spiegel, (developed stereotactic neurosurgery) and Dr. Sol Sherry (an important contributor to the development of lytic therapy, currently responsible for saving many lives following occlusion of blood vessels in the heart).

* The Fels Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Biology

* The Center for Obesity Research and Education
* The Sol Sherry Thrombosis Research Center

There are also ongoing collaborations with research groups in other colleges of the University and indeed, with other universities throughout the country and world. An Office of Clinical Trials coordinates and oversees new industry initiated research initiatives.
