McGill University has embarked on a new era of interdisciplinary research in the life sciences with the opening of more than 150,000 sq ft of start-of-the-art research facilities in the newly constructed Bellini Life Sciences Centre and the Goodman Cancer Research Center.

These new buildings create an interconnected McGill University Life Sciences Complex that houses a dynamic research community of over 200 biomedical researchers. In addition to spectacular excellent laboratory space, this new infrastructure includes modern core facilities for FACS, high throughput screening, small molecule and shRNA siRNA screening, imaging, mass spectrometry, 800 & 600 MHz NMR, X-ray crystallography, Biacore T100, deep sequencing, small angle X ray scattering and informatics infrastructure. They also include a new state of the art mouse facility that is equipped for mouse genetics, transgenic animals and for working with BSL-2 and BSL-3 level pathogens.

The goal of these recruitments is to enhance the interdisciplinary research environment areas of Chemical and Structural Biology Program, one of the 5 new research themes of this new research complex. This program explores the underlying biology of human disease by examining the interplay between chemistry, biology and physics. Areas of particular interest include but are not limited to systems biology, structural biology, and bioinformatics.

We invite applications from well-qualified candidates at all stages of their careers who have enthusiasm for multidisciplinary research and are eager to develop novel approaches toward understanding fundamental biological and disease processes. The successful candidate will be provided competitive start up packages and will contribute to the research and teaching missions of one or more of the Departments of the Faculty of Medicine.
