The Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship is open to full - time minority students enrolled in a technical degree program at the bachelor level or above. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.

Committed to the academic success of all minority students, Xerox is offering several scholarships to qualified minorities enrolled in a technical degree program. The program is open to all students at the bachelor level and above who are majoring in technical fields. The Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship provides awards ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 for undergraduate and graduate minority students in technical disciplines that include:

Chemistry
Information Management
Computing & Software Systems
Material Science
Printing Management Science
Laser Optics
Physics
Material Science
Engineering (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Imaging, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Optical, or Software)

The student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled full-time.

Okan University have an extensive scholarship program to help well-qualified international students study at Okan University. Scholarships are awarded on academic merit and are applicable for all years of study.

Scholarship Description

In the spirit of promoting international education and fostering close educational ties between Turkey and various countries OKAN UNIVERSITY is offering scholarships to international students from the following countries applying for undergradute studies in the 2011-2012 academic year.

The Federal Perkins Loan Program provides low-interest loans to help needy students finance the costs of postsecondary education. Students can receive Perkins loans at any one of approximately 1,800 participating postsecondary institutions.

A Federal Perkins Loan, or Perkins Loan, is a need-based student loan offered by the U.S. Department of Education to assist American college students in funding their post-secondary education. The program is named after Carl D. Perkins, a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Kentucky.

A Federal Perkins Loan is a low-interest (5 percent) Federal student loan for both undergraduate and graduate students with exceptional financial need. Unlike the Federal Stafford loan and Parent PLUS loan, the Federal Perkins Loans is made through a school's financial aid office. Your school is your lender, and the loan is made with government funds. You must repay this loan to your school.

Your school will either pay you directly (usually by check) or apply the loan funds to any school charges that you have. The loan will be disbursed in at least two separate payments during the academic year.

The 2010 Rhodes Scholarship Competition

A Rhodes scholarship offers the opportunity to study at Oxford University for two years, with all tuition fees paid and a living allowance provided. American Rhodes Scholars are selected from all over the nation to pursue a course of study of their own choosing at Oxford; students may work toward a master's degree or a second bachelor's degree.

In considering applications, Selection Committees will emphasize those qualities that Cecil Rhodes expressly listed in order to define the type of Scholar he desired. Proven intellectual and academic achievement of a high standard is the first quality required of applicants, but they will also be required to show integrity of character, interest in and respect for their fellow beings, the ability to lead, and the energy to use their talents to the full.

Cecil J. Rhodes, who endowed these scholarships, believed that the last of these qualities was best tested through participation and success in sports. Participation in varsity sports is not essential if applicants are able to demonstrate in other ways the physical vigor that will enable Rhodes Scholars to make an effective contribution to the world around them.

Eligibility:
To qualify for 2009 awards, candidates should:

Be a citizen of the United States.
Have passed their eighteenth birthday and not have passed their 24th birthday (Applicants who were born on or after October 1, 1984 and before October 1, 1990 will be eligible).
Plan to graduate with a bachelor's degree by October 1, 2009.
Apply either as a student from the state where you were a legal resident on April 15, 2008 or from a state where you have spent a minimum of two years of college training and received your bachelor's degree. Financial need gives no special claim to a Rhodes scholarship.
Have a 3.8 GPA.
Receive the nomination of UNC.

Excellence Awards
In the UK and around the world, there is a growing need for scientists, engineers and mathematicians. At Glamorgan, we are proud of our tradition and reputation in these fields and, as part of this commitment, we have awards to help develop the pioneers of the future. Worth a total of £4,500 over three years, this award is for high achievers who apply for a subject within the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.

Who can apply?

UK and EU students studying selected full-time undergraduate degree courses within the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. A full list of these courses can be found here

Eligibility Requirements

This scholarship is available for students starting degree courses in 2010, who will be liable to pay the flexible home rate of fee*

There are 200 awards to be won. To be eligible, you need to:

apply to Glamorgan by 15th January 2010 and firmly accept our offer by 5th May 2010
apply for the Excellence Award by 5th May 2010
achieve 340 or more UCAS points in your final exam results (from three A-levels, or two A-levels and the Welsh Baccalaureate or 27 points in the International Baccalaureate) (qualifications obtained outside of the UK will be assessed on an individual basis)
be a UK or EU student and therefore liable for the UK rate of fee.
be successful in your University exams and assessments at the first attempt.

How much?

The Excellence Award is payable in three stages: £1,500 in your first year, then a further £1,500 in each of your second and third years following successful progression onto years 2 and 3. You must successfully pass all assessments and examinations at the first attempt to remain eligible.

The University invites applications for the Special Scholarships from candidates who reside in Devon and the South West region of Great Britain and who are offered an undergraduate place at the University (Exeter and Cornwall campuses) through UCAS during the 2009/10 application cycle for degrees commencing in October 2010 or October 2011.
Who may Apply:
Offered to new students who meet the specific requirements of each scholarship scheme as follows:
• Ballard Scholarships – for males who have been members of the Ballard Institute, Plymouth. If funds available, also available to males from the City of Plymouth or the Borough of Saltash or the Rural District of Plympton St Mary. £50 – £85 annually.
• Cedric Hall Mardon Scholarship – for sons of officers of the RAF or RAFVR, primarily sons of officers who have died whilst on active service. Up to £70 annually.
• Charles Read Scholarships – offered to individuals under the age of 19 at the time of application whose parents have resided for the preceding 15 years in the Parish of Honiton or, if funds available, the Honiton Parliamentary division of Devon. Up to £100 annually.
• George Christopher Davie Masonic Scholarship – offered to children of a Devonshire Freemason who;
1. was resident in Devon when initially admitted to the lodge.
2. a subscribing member of the Lodge and resident in Devon for 5 consecutive years (within 2 years of an application being made). Up to £100 annually.
• Horwill Memorial Scholarship – for applicants who have relatives in employment with, or have retired from, the Post Office. Preference given to those resident in the SW Telecommunications Region. Up to £40 annually.

1. Printed details of the Special scholarships with attendant application form can be obtained from the Scholarship Administrator, Admissions Office, University of Exeter, Laver Building, North Park Road, Exeter EX4 4QE, to whom completed forms (together with supporting documentary evidence certifying the validity of a claim based on residential and/or occupational grounds, e.g. birth certificate) should be returned by Friday 1st October 2010 by new students being admitted to the University at the start of the 2010 academic year.

Scholarship Details:

2. Awards are made for one year initially. Scholarships can be renewed annually for the normal duration of a first degree programme, subject to satisfactory progress by the nominated student and recurrent funds being available.
